- A 2-day programme that consists of 12 modules
- We have set dates available for this course (click book a course to view calendar) but if you have a group and would like to book another date please contact us to arrange. Min x2.
- Minimum age: The White-Water Safety course is available to all ages. Under 18's must book with a parent or guardian on the course too.
- Participants must hold the relevant British Canoeing Awarding Body Personal Performance Award or demonstrate equivalent skills, as the course requires proficiency in boat control, paddling and swimming in challenging environments.
Holding a First Aid certificate is strongly recommended for all paddlers, however a First Aid certificate is not a prerequisite.
Led by experienced instructors, the course delves into various crucial topics, such as emergency planning and procedures, people and equipment rescues, chase boating, casualty management and practical scenarios. Your course will support you to consider safe practices, provide practical solutions to common issues and appropriate responses to incidents, providing peace of mind when venturing out onto the rivers.
Participants will engage in twelve comprehensive modules throughout the course, each meticulously crafted to address different facets of white water safety and rescue.
Whether paddling in kayaks, canoes, or stand-up paddleboards, this course is designed to equip participants to independently navigate grade 3 (4) white water rivers safely.
This hands-on training course has no assessment and focuses on practical skills. It equips you with the tools and techniques to keep yourself and others safe on the river while offering solutions to common challenges on moving water.
In addition to honing safety skills, the course offers opportunities for personal development and networking within the paddling community. Many participants forge lasting friendships and connections, enriching their overall experience.
You will need to bring your own appropriate equipment for this course, however if this is a problem do get in touch.
Any water fees will be included in the price.
You must be a member of a Home Nation to take part in this course and receive your certificate. Become a member.
