This two-day Paddle UK course is specifically designed to empower participants with the knowledge and techniques essential for safe navigation on white water.

Are you a white water paddler eager to acquire the skills necessary to navigate such environments with confidence? Do you seek to understand proper procedures in the event of emergencies on the river? If so, the White Water Safety course (WWS) is tailor-made for you!

All the details

  • Confident in your ability to independently paddle on grade 2 water
  • Confident swimming in normal paddling clothing suitable for a moving water environment

Holding a First Aid certificate is strongly recommended for all paddlers, however a First Aid certificate is not a prerequisite. Holding the SUP White Water PPA Award the Canoe Award etc would put you in a position to fully engage and enjoy your course.

Led by experienced instructors, the course delves into various crucial topics, such as emergency planning and procedures, people and equipment rescues, safe swimming and practical scenarios. Your course will support you to consider safe practices, provide practical solutions to common issues and appropriate responses to incidents, providing peace of mind when venturing out onto the rivers.

Participants will engage in nine comprehensive modules throughout the course, each meticulously crafted to address different facets of white water safety and rescue.

Whether paddling in kayaks, canoes, or stand-up paddleboards, this course is designed to equip participants to independently navigate grade 2 (3) white water rivers safely.

The course is completely based around training, raising awareness with no assessment. Structured to support you, our experienced tutors will ensure you have plenty of time to practise, as well as understand how you can develop skills and experience after the course.

In addition to honing safety skills, the course offers opportunities for personal development and networking within the paddling community. Many participants forge lasting friendships and connections, enriching their overall experience.

You will need to bring your own appropriate equipment for this course, however if this is a problem do get in touch.

Any water fees will be included in the price. 

You must be a member of a Home Nation to take part in this course and receive your certificate. Become a member.
